Christmas is Not Always a Joyful Season
I love reading. I love writing. And I love words! Many might consider words to be ‘just words’, but they’re really not. They are far from that! I remember when my father passed away December of 2008. It was an unexpected death; literally out of nowhere. He was 48, and I was just beginning to enjoy more time with him. We said goodbye on Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. To say this event in my life was tough is an understatement. It’s really been the hardest, and the longest process of healing I’ve ever had to deal with. Three months after his death I had to ask for professional help in coping with his terrible, sudden death. At the time, I reached out to one of my Professors with whom I felt comfortable talking to, and to my surprise, her sister was a Psychologist.
You Can Heal Your Life
My first appointment was much more than I expected. It was my wake-up call. I knew I had to find comfort somehow and even though I prayed and reached out to God, first and foremost, I needed some kind of ‘plan’ to get through what was happening to me. Emotionally I was a wreck, and with two kids. Something had to give! She gave me one option and said: “This will help you”. What was it? It was a book! The book was called You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay. My first thought was: “Why is she telling me to read a book when I’m here crying my heart out, drowning in pain?”. The Dr. told me that there are two universal things known to heal, and that have the power to change one’s life. These two things are simply called: Music and Words.
The Power of Words
Spoken, powerful words put into sentences that are known as prayers, single words and sounds that form a statement with such power that can help you in a level of consciousness during meditation, or simple words known as quotes taken from books, speeches, or texts, from different sources, can help us manifest, heal, and create change. To speak these words is to have all the control you need to make things happen. I believe in writing, and I believe in words! I believe in the most powerful word of all, the word of God. I also believe that throughout the uncountable books that exist in this world, there are many powerful words we must invite to our lives and speak them into existence. After my fathers’ death, learning about the power of words has changed my life completely, in every way.
