Outdoor Photo Session
Being a natural light photographer, a nature lover, and sunlight obsessed, means that I absolutely love shooting outdoors! My business is based on natural, outdoor photography and it’s what I do the most. I do all kinds of sessions outdoors! Outdoor photos require a little bit of magic in turns of how to manage the light, but its success is also in part due to the selection of location and outfits. Primarily, the colors you choose for your outfits, play a huge role in your photo session. This is why I include a consultation on all my packages that includes suggestions for themes (if any), locations, outfit colors, styles to wear, and how to wear them on the day of your session to optimize the aesthetics of your images. Your clothing tells a lot about you! Together, we can achieve an amazing visual representation of your personality.
Selecting an Outfit for Your Photo Session
Some of you love shopping! Unfortunately, I don’t. But I love when my clients text me photos of them when they’re shopping for their outfits and they want to share it with me right away! By the time you’re out shopping, or looking in your wardrobe for what to wear, means that we’ve already had our chat about your session and you already know what to look for. In case you forget, here’s what to keep in mind when selecting your outfit for your photo session:
Avoid trying new styles. Stick to something that you feel comfortable with.
Accessorize. Hats, jewelry, sunglasses, earrings, and rings, are great to have on the day of the session.
Use layers. Jackets, scarfs, coats, etc. These are a great way to add variety to your photos.
Go easy on the patterns. This is very important! Don’t go overboard on patterns, even more so, if you’re a family of 4+. Coordinate your patterns with solids (mix + match).
Don’t be matchy-matchy. No, you do not have to all dress alike! Show your personality and individualism.
Dress for success. This is my best advice of all! Photo sessions are special. Images are for a lifetime! Cherish this process and be your most elegant self!
What to Bring to Your Photo Session
And Booking your Fall Mini Sessions in Central Florida
On the day of your session, I recommend bringing bottled water to hydrate in between shots, hand towels to freshen up, and make-up for your touch-ups. If you have babies and/or children, please bring them their favorite plush toy or blanket. Bringing a throw for your session is also a huge help for the fun laying in the ground shots! Also, when booking full sessions, feel free to bring 1 or 2 extra outfits. Pets are also welcomed on your photo session!
