Driving to Wild Florida Airboats & Gator Park
Located very nicely in the middle of nowhere, visiting part of the Florida Everglades in Central Florida, is truly a unique experience. Wild Florida Airboats & Gator Park is just about a 50-minute drive from the Walt Disney Resort and it's totally worth a visit! I had never heard of this park before, nor have I had the chance to drive down to Kenansville, FL yet. I loved that it has a country-like setting, and it's very laid back. As we got closer to the entrance of Wild Florida, I began enjoying the wildlife and beautiful scenery. And just like Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, I kind of thought to myself "We're not in Florida anymore!". But we were. And this beautiful outdoor scene is all part of the Sunshine State!

I learned through the Wild Florida website that their airboats are US Coast Guard certified. I never knew this was actually 'a thing'. I had also never been on an airboat before. Ever. I was expecting something that would make me feel desperate about getting off, but surprisingly for me, it was super cool and I enjoyed the whole 30-minute ride. They also offer a 1 hour ride! We were assigned to Captain Logan, and he was great! He did an amazing job, and even stopped along the way to show us an eagle that was just chilling at the very top of a tree, had a close-up look with a gator (not that I enjoyed this part), and thanks to him, it was a very smooth ride, on a lovely sunny morning. He even let me sit on his Captain chair for a photo! Sweeeet 😌
Wildlife in Florida Everglades Gator Park
Wild Florida Airboats & Gator Park is bigger than I thought it would be. Not counting the 30 minute airboat ride, we were able to explore and enjoy the park in 3 hours. I didn't eat at The Chomp House Grill because I'm vegetarian and It's pretty obvious what type of food you could eat at the grill. Regardless, I loved every little detail of the food area, the lounging chairs with the Wild Florida logo, the misting fans, and the people were enjoying their food! So, I'm pretty sure the food is good.
The gift shop is pretty cool, and they have this big map pinned with the location of visitors from all over the world. You can ask for a pin, and pin it to where you're coming from! While exploring the park, I saw tortoises, zebras, raccoons, pythons, alligators (of course!), a panther, the swamp, and a lot more! We waited for the gator show but it never started. At least not during the whole 3 1/2 hours we spent at the park. But above all, I found Wild Florida to be a super cool park, made for the whole family to enjoy. I would definitely go back, but as for me, I'm staying away from the gators!
I was really excited to see a particular animal in this awesome park. Can you guess which one it is? Take a look at my favorite images from my day trip at Wild Florida, and try to guess which animal made me smile the most, and comment on this post with your answer. I would love to see who gets it right ❤️
