A Photographer’s Editing Playlist

Listening to Music While Editing

Editing can take hours and even days depending on the project. It requires large doses of freshly brewed coffee, a blanket, a pillow for my back, and a music playlist! Ahh! Music is life! I can never work or edit without having some music playing in the background. But there are certain types of music I listen to depending on my work. For instance, if I’m writing on my blog like I am now, I play the Hanging out and Relaxing or Coffeehouse Blend Music Playlists on Spotify. When I’m working on social media content either for myself or my clients, I mostly listen to good vibe music like Bob Marley, or alternative rock. Now, when it comes to editing, it’s a whole different ball game and requires a certain mix of hype and mellow music.

I don’t think I’m complex at all when it comes to my music but I do think that I’m very picky and particular with my choices. Editing takes all of me. I have to pay attention, feel a certain vibe, and try not to go behind schedule. For this reason, listening to my favorite music while editing is crucial for me.
